HUG FOR THE TEACHER - Tuesday was a "day" for Louise Ritsema, principal of Haisley Elementary School, on the city's west side. After 25 years as head of the Duncan Street school, Mrs. Ritsema is retiring. She was recognized for her long public school service at a Haisley School program on Tuesday in which a proclamation by Mayor Louis Belcher declaring "Louise Ritsema Day" was presented to her. She is shown here hugging one of her Haisley students. (Staff photo by Jack Stubbs)
