Foreign Foods Sampled: Foreign teachers of English, studying at the University's English Language Institute, gathered at Haisley School last night for a dinner in which several of the teachers prepared favorite foods of their respective home countries. Doing kitchen work here are (from left to right) Sawaaki Sakuda of Japan, Teruko Inoue of Japan, Shih-Chih Tung of Formosa, Peng Ann Tan of Indonesia, Henny Tumengkol of Indonesia, and Armi Ailas of Finland. The teachers, who will be in Ann Arbor until Dec. 19, are studying under grants from the U. S. Office of Education.

HUG FOR THE TEACHER - Tuesday was a "day" for Louise Ritsema, principal of Haisley Elementary School, on the city's west side. After 25 years as head of the Duncan Street school, Mrs. Ritsema is retiring. She was recognized for her long public school service at a Haisley School program on Tuesday in which a proclamation by Mayor Louis Belcher declaring "Louise Ritsema Day" was presented to her.
