BRISK RIDE: Returning from a cross-country jaunt are riders of the Everett Riding School on N. Maple Rd. The daily treks over Ann Arbor's hills and dales are only one phase of riding they learn during many hours on horseback. There's also the art of equitation, jumping and dressage, to name a few, and ardent riders don't mind practicing many hours a day to polish their talents.

NEEDS WORKOUT: Karen Nimke, a student at the University and instructor at the Everett Riding School, works four-year-old "Euchre" on a longe line before mounting him. Karen expects to make horsemanship her profession upon graduation. She has gained fame in the area in jumping, has captained the Everett jump team, the "Everetties," and won the Hawthorne Hills trophy in dressage the last two years.

These young riders, day campers at Everett's Riding School on North Maple Road, are being led by counselor Jane Berkeley and include (front to rear) Janie Brown, Gloria Brown, Brookie Hinerman, Sarah Kennedy, Paul Schneider, Sharon Siller and Margaret Westrum. Mrs. Jerry Everett owns and operates the school.
