Sue Parrish and her daughter Katie Miller, both of Hickory Corners, flew their AT6-SNJ into Ann Arbor Municipal Airport this morning. It was anniversary time as 13 other private planes staged a "fly-in" to mark the golden anniversary of the founding of the Michigan Aeronautics Commission. The planes stopped here while on a three-day tour of Michigan airports. Among the flyers were Murray Van Wagoner, former Michigan governor and highway commissioner. Parrish was an Air Corps ferry pilot in World War II.

DUMMY AIRPLANE PERFORMS LIKE A REAL ONE: It appears harmless enough, but the Link trainer shown in the above photograph can become extremely balky when in operation, for clever mechanism and design makes it behave like a regular plane in rough air. Behind the controls is Virl Marshall, a student from Monroe, Mich. The plane is used by the University's Aeronautical engineering department in training young pilots.
