Lafayette Barnes

Lafayette Barnes, 86, retired sailor on the Great Lakes, died this morning at his home at 122 Grand View drive. He was born March 8, 1844, in Noridgeville, Ont., and had been a resident here the past 22 years. Mrs. Barnes died in 1916.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Martha Doman of Grand View drive, Mrs. Fred Ash in Florida, and Mrs. Oliver Hunt in California; two sons, Mart of St. Clair and Lafayette of Cortwright, Ont.; 26 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Monday afternoon at the Staffan funeral home. Rev. Henry Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
