NEW WITNESSES FOUND IN AUTO FATALITY
(Special to The Daily News)

Ypsilanti, May 8. – The driver of the automobile which was traveling east on Michigan Ave, at the time of the fatal accident April 28 which took the lives of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stockdale when they were struck by a car driven by Frederick Cain, Jr., of this city, has been identified by local police officers and probably will be called upon as a witness at the coroner’s inquest to be held this evening.
The new witness, whose name is being withheld by police, told local officers that he was only a few feet from the spot where the Stockdales and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Durham were standing in the center of Michigan Ave. near the Huron river bridge when they were struck by the Cain car.
He agrees with other eye-witnesses of the accident in stating that Cain’s car struck the four persons at high speed, and that no other car was involved in any way. Cain has told officers that the four were struck by an unidentified car and thrown into the path f his machine. The new witness declares, as have others, that the victims were tossed high into the air by the force of the impact of Cain’s car, and says that he was compelled to make a sudden turn to avoid colliding with Cain’s car after the driver lost control of the machine following the accident.
