Second Lt. Marvin Reid Taylor, of Ann Arbor, an instructor in the Army Air Corps, was killed yesterday at Greenville, Miss., when two Army training planes crashed in mid-air.
Another instructor and two aviation cadets also lost their lives in the crash.
Lt. Taylor, who would have been 25 years old June 25, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy O. Taylor, 1520 Broadway. He visited in Ann Arbor Monday on his way back to Greenville by auto from Chicago with his bride, the former Mary Ellen Nordstrom. They were married last Saturday.
Native Of Detroit
A native of Detroit, Lt. Taylor was a forestry student in the class of 1942 at the University when he withdrew to enlist in the Air Corps on June 4 last year. He received preliminary training at Stamford and Randolph Field, Tex., and received his wings and commission at Kelly Field Jan. 9.
In February he was assigned to the Army's Greenville flying school as an instructor of aviation cadets.
Before entering the University here. Lt. Taylor received his high school education at Long Beach, Calif., and then attended the Pasadena Junior College.
Besides his bride and parents, he leaves a brother, Corp. Jay C. Taylor, III, who is in the Air Corps at Ellington Field, Tex.; and his grandfather, Jay C. Taylor, of Ann Arbor.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
