Harry Sykes Dies At Age Of 61
Harry Sykes, 61 years old, 430 S. Fifth Ave., a barber here for 40 years, died this noon after an illness of three months.
Mr. Sykes was born April 4, 1882, in Petrolia, Ont., and came to Ann Arbor in 1903 and was naturalized in 1914. He had been employed recently in the William Sunday barber shop on S. Main St.
In 1912 he married Mrs. Hattie Schall Forsythe, who survives. Also surviving are a brother, Alfred J. Sykes, Lowell; a daughter, Mrs. Richard Magoon, and a granddaughter, Pamelia Magoon, both of Ann Arbor.
Private funeral services will be held at 1:30 Thursday afternoon at the Muehlig chapel, Rev. Theodore Schmale officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery. Friends may call at Muehlig’s to noon Thursday.
