Mrs. Frances Spalding Copeland, widow of Royal S. Copeland, former United States Senator from New York, died Friday at Sarasota, Fla.
Mrs. Copeland, a native of Ann Arbor, and the late Senator were married at Dexter in July of 1908. Senator Copeland, a former Ann Arbor mayor, preceded his wife in death several years ago.
Mrs. Copeland is survived by a son, Maj. Royal S. Copeland, with the Allied Military Government; a brother, Dr. Lyman Spalding, Suffern, N. Y.; a half-sister, Mrs. T. J. Knapp, Northville, and two grandchildren. Also surviving is Senator Copeland's sister, Miss Cornelia Copeland, who makes her home at Dexter.
Funeral services will be held at Suffern.
