MILAN - John W. Cook, 84 years old, died Thursday at Providence hospital in Detroit, after a week's illness.
He was born in Tecumseh, Dec. 25, 1860, the son of John W. and Jane Cook.
He married Helen A. Olds on July 23, 1882.
During his life as a farmer and plaster mason he lived near the vicinity of Milan and during the past three years made his home with his daughters in Detroit.
In 1942 Mr. and Mrs. Cook celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Mrs. Cook died Feb. 16, 1943.
Surviving besides his two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Palmer and Mrs. Hazel Miller, both of Detroit, are four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday at the Stevens and Bush funeral home with Rev. D. C. Swaney of Melvindale officiating.
Burial will be in Lake Ridge cemetery.
