Emmons L. Gill, 78, died last night at his home, 123 Grand View Dr., after a long illness. For the past several years he had been an employe of the Washtenaw county road commission.
Born Nov. 9, 1868, in Ypsilanti, Mr. Gill was the son of Peter and Jane Gill. He spent his early life in Wayne and Washtenaw counties, and became a resident of Ann Arbor 33 years ago.
Mr. Gill married Effie M. Fowler Dec. 23, 1891.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Claude Emmons Gill of Lansing; a brother, George Gill of Superior township; and three sisters, Mrs. Eda Truesdale of Wayne, Mrs. Wyman Bartlett of Plymouth and Mrs. Walter Bennett of Grosse Pointe.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Friday at the Muehlig chapel. Burial will take place in Cherry Hill cemetery, Superior township. Friends may call at the chapel.
