Small Battle Creek Firm To Move Here

Removal of the 59-year-old R. E. Hart Manufacturing Co. from Battle Creek to Ann Arbor was announced today.

The concern, which makes industrial counting devices, will begin operations Sept. 15 in the same building as the Ann Arbor Automatic Products Co., at 635 S. Main St.

Russell E. Hart, third generation of his family connected with the business, is the sole owner of the firm.

For some years he has been supervising production of Hart products at Automatic Products.

The firm employed five persons in Battle Creek and is one of four concerns in the worldwide field of industrial counting. It has 183 distributors in the northern half of the western hemisphere and others abroad.

For 24 years all operations of the Ford motor companies all over the world have been checked by Hart counters.

The Harts have purchased a home near the Washtenaw Country Club.
