Ivan Love will have a municipal court hearing at 9:30 Monday morning, April 18, on charges that he shot and killed Mrs. Zella McConnell, 37, of 1675 Lexington Rd.
The examination was requested by Love's attorney, Louis Colombo, jr., of Detroit, when the 34-year-old unemployed steel worker was arraigned this morning before Municipal Judge Francis O'Brien.
Love himself said nothing during his courtroom appearance. Judge O'Brien ordered him held in the County Jail without bond.
Colombo, questioned after the arraignment, said he had still not decided on what basis Love's defense would be conducted.
Mrs. McConnell was found dead of ten bullet wounds in her home the night of April 1. Love, a roomer at the house, surrendered to officers two hours later.
He had denied the slaying, saying the .22 caliber automatic rifle was fired "during a struggle."
