Eva S. Schairer
Retired Teacher Dies
In Ypsilanti At 70
YPSILANTI - Eva Sophia Schairer, 70, a retired University of North Dakota professor, died suddenly yesterday at Beyer Memorial Hospital. She had made her home with a sister, Mrs. Fred H. Nissly of 7 Oakwood St., Ypsilanti, for the past year.
Miss Schairer was born on April 28, 1881, in Saline, a daughter of George E. and Sophia Sorg Schairer.
She was graduated from Michigan State Normal College and received a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin where she taught for four years following her graduation. She also taught in Pontiac, Mich., and, prior to her retirement, had been a professor of home economics at the University of North Dakota for 25 years.
In addition to her sister, Miss Schairer is survived by two brothers, Otto S. Schairer of Princeton, N. J., and Edward O. Schairer of San Francisco, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Moore Funeral Home, Rev. Raymon C. Bair officiating. Burial will be made in Oakwood Cemetery, Saline. Friends may call at the funeral home.
