Lifelong Ann Arbor Resident Dies At 65
A lifelong resident of Ann Arbor, Alexander E. Schlupe, 65, died last night at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital after a brief illness. He lived at 545 Allison Dr.
Mr. Schlupe was born May 11, 1887, a son of Alexander and Martha Aberspecker Schlupe. On Oct 17, 1910, he married Miss Mabel Steurnagel of Ann Arbor. She survives.
Mr. Schlupe was employed at the University Building and Grounds department for 27 years, and for the past six years, he had been employed at the King-Seeley Corp.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and of the Elks lodge for 40 years.
Besides his wife, survivors include three sons, Harrison G. Schlupe, Robert A. Schlupe and Ralph E. Schlupe, all of Ann Arbor; three daughters, Mrs. Fred J. Looker of Ann Arbor and Mrs. Carl Gibbs and Mrs. Charles Williams, both of Wayne; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Muehlig Chapel, Rev. Walter M. Brandt officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.
