Becomes Bride In Parents’ Home Martha Cecilia Wells, daughter of Prof. and Mrs. Carlton F. Wells of Harvard Pl., became the bride of Robert Howard Usher of Montreal, Canada, last Saturday afternoon at the bride’s parents’ home. The Rev. H. L. Pickerill, director of the Disciples and Congregational Student Guild, performed the 5:30 p.m. ceremony. For the ceremony, the bride chose a street length white nylon dress, with a full pleated skirt. She wore a tiara of stephanotis in her hair and carried a nosegay of stephanotis. Mrs. Richard McGaw of Newport, R. I., sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. She wore a ballet length pink organdy dress, with triple tiers of the skirt scalloped in white. Her headpiece was a tiara of miniature pink rosebuds, which she also carried as a nosegay. Kurt Gottfried of Boston served as best man for Mr. Usher, who is the son of Dr. and Mrs. S. J. Usher of Montreal, Canada. Ushers were David Usher, brother of the bridegroom, and Robert D. Wells, brother of the bride. After the ceremony, a supper was served at the Wells’ home. Mrs. David Echenberg of Sherbrooke, Can., aunt of the bridegroom, poured the coffee. Two aunts of the bride, Mrs. R. U. Travis of Kirtland, O., and Regina Luks of Royal Oak, cut the cake. For a wedding trip, the couple will sail for France and England, where they will spend two months. For traveling, the bride chose a gray cotton and nylon dress with white accessories. After their return in September, both Mr. and Mrs. Usher will complete their senior year in medical school. Mrs. Usher is a graduate of McGill University and is a member of Alpha Epsilon Iota sorority and Alpha Omega Alpha honorary society. Her husband, also a graduate of McGill University, is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
