Action moments in yesterday's City Council vs. Police softball game at Wines Field found Police Capt. Rolland J. (Barney) Gainsley (extreme left) fouling a pitch; Water Department Manager H. H. Caswell (center) making the put-out at first base on Patrolman John Spalding (note Sloan's liniment in Caswell's hip pocket); and Assistant City Attorney Jacob F. Fahrner, jr., (extreme right) crossing the plate after homering in the early innings. The city won, 6 to 4, and firmly declined a new challenge.
