Ford Motor Worker Dies At Age of 64
William J. Mahlke, 64, died suddenly yesterday at his home, 564 S. Ashley St. He had been employed by the Ford Motor Co. for the past 15 years at the Highland Park plant and recently at the Livonia plant.
Mr. Mahlke was born on April 19, 1889, in Ann Arbor, a son of John L. and Ida Herrmann Mahlke. He was a lifelong Ann Arbor resident.
He was married to Violetta Rettich on Nov. 27, 1915. She survives.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Clifford J. Mahlke of Ann Arbor; a granddaughter, Sue Ann Mahlke; his mother, Mrs. Ida Mahlke of Ann Arbor; and two brothers, John of Ann Arbor and Clarence of Chicago.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Staffan-Hildinger Funeral Home, with the Rev. Walter S. Press officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
