Retired Grain Elevator Operator Succumbs
YPSILANTI - Clarence Andrew Meloling, 84, died this morning at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. He had been living with his son, Clyde W. Meloling of 716 W. Michigan Ave., since 1935.
He was born in New York on Nov. 3, 1872, a son of John and Anna Caskins Meloling, and was married to Maude Cool at Lakeview, Mich. She died in March, 1934. Mr. Meloling was a retired grain elevator operator.
Surviving, in addition to his son, are one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Almas of Detroit; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Two daughters and two sons preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Stevens & Bush Funeral Home here, the Rev. Raymon Bair officiating. Burial will be in Stockbridge Cemetery, Stockbridge, Mich.
Friends may call at the funeral home beginning tomorrow morning.
