Ann Arbor Resident Succumbs At Age 81
Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Welch, 81, wife of James A. Welch of 423 High St., died yesterday afternoon at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital after an illness of three months.
Born March 1, 1874, in Scio township, she was the daughter of Frank and Caroline Clancy Hanlin. She married Mr. Welch of Northfield township on Feb. 27, 1906, and the couple lived in Northfield before moving to Ann Arbor in 1922.
She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and the Altar Society of the church.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Gertrude, at home and a brother, Louis Hanlin of Ann Arbor.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Thomas Church with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday.
