Mrs. Mary Staebler
Mrs. Mary A. Staebler, 97, the widow of Emanuel E. Staebler, died Dec. 10 at the home of her son, Oscar E. Staebler of 707 Fifth St., following a year's illness.
Mrs. Staebler was born June 30, 1861, in Lima township, a daughter of Jacob and Mary A. Smith Luick. She and Mr. Staebler were married on Dec. 13, 1882. He died in January, 1935.
The couple lived on a farm in Lima township until 1888 when they moved to Denver, Colo. They returned to live in Ann Arbor in 1898.
Mrs. Staebler was a member of Bethlehem Evangelical and Reformed Church. She also was a member of the Ladies' Aid Society of the church.
Survivors, in addition to her son Oscar, include three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, a great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Dec. 12 at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Ernest R. Klaudt officiating.
Burial was made in Bethlehem Cemetery.
