University High Senior Wins Soloist Role For Concert
Kingsley Brown, a senior at University High School, has been named winner of a contest to select a piano soloist for the Ann Arbor Civic Symphony’s children’s' concert. The contest was co-sponsored by the Civic Symphony and the Ann Arbor Public Schools.
He will play the third movement of Beethoven’s Second piano Concerto in B Flat Major at the concert, which will be held at 3 p.m. Feb. 13 in the Ann Arbor High School Auditorium.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon C. Brown of 2550 Devonshire Rd., he is a piano student of Mrs. Vladimir Bibicoff.
Judy Sklar and Lynn Abbott, both pupils of Mrs. Lydia Courte, were other finalists at the audition held Sunday at the home of Mrs. John Worley of the Civic Symphony.
Judges included Dr. George Wilson, Civic Symphony conductor and vice-president of the Interlochen Music Camp; Mrs. Roger Jacoby and Mrs. Calvin Peters.
