Mrs. Alta Kennedy, 52, a former Ann Arbor resident, died Monday at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn., following a short illness.
Mrs. Kennedy had lived in Sault Ste. Marie for the past 15 years. She was a graduate of Ann Arbor High School and Eastern Michigan University and taught school in Sault Ste. Marie.
She was born May 4, 1909, in Yale, Mich., the daughter of Herbert L. and Maude Worden Yakes. She was married to Robert E. Kennedy in 1937 in Ann Arbor. He survives.
Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Susan, at home; a son, Charles L., at home; and a sister, Mrs. Gladys Stacey of Plymouth.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Schrader Funeral Home in Plymouth with the Rev. Melbourne I. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery in Ann Arbor. Friends may call at the funeral home.
