Mrs. Lydia V. Blaess, 73, wife of Otto V. Blaess of 308 Snyder, died Monday evening at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born on Nov. 25, 1890, in Lodi Township, a daughter of Joseph and Fredericka Buss Jedele. She was married to Blaess on Dec. 16, 1920, and they have made their home in Ann Arbor ever since.
Mrs. Blaess was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and of the Women of the Church.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Alton O. Blaess of Ann Arbor; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Jacob (Clara) Theurer of Fenton, Mrs. Matilda Mayer of Lodi Township and Mrs. Fred (Elisa) Renz of Scio; two brothers, Edward Jedele of Lodi Township and Alfred Jedele of Ann Arbor; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Muehlig Chapel with Rev. Ralph B. Piper officiating. Burial will follow in Lodi Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel and memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund.
