Ida C. Knapp, retired school teacher and writer, died yesterday at University Hospital.
A native of New York City where she was born Oct. 31, 1881, she taught school in Detroit for many years prior to coming to Ann Arbor to live with her sister, Mrs. Alma Meyer, at the Anna Botsford Bach home.
She was the author of two books, "Songs For Little Children" and "A Source Book For Kindergarten Teachers." Her latest book is a collection of her metaphysical reflections, written in poetic form. It is now being translated into the Dutch language.
Private funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Staffan Funeral Home where friends may call. Rev. Marie Monroe will officiate. Cremation will follow.
