Lumen Christi Outlasts Hurons
(Special to The News)
JACKSON — Never able to see to the high side of the scoreboard after falling behind 10-1 at the onset, Huron High lost a game of catch-up basketball to Jackson Lumen Christi here last night, 45-42.
Shooting eyes were as cold as the weather as Lumen Christi hit home on only 18 of 63 attempts, while Huron was 14 for 53.
The Green and Gold closed the gap steadily after the first quarter, and during the third period a pair of charity tosses by Dave Strack and a bucket by Pete Jamison brought Huron to within 28-26.
It was the closest the visitors from Ann Arbor got, as Ed Klum’s charges dropped their second loss of the season against one win.
Besides whipping in 20 points, Jamison hauled down 26 of the Huron’s 34 rebounds.
