Five Face Examination In Pot Case

Five men arrested Tuesday night after an attempt had been made to sell 100 pounds of marijuana to State Police undercover narcotics agents demanded examination Wednesday when arraigned in Fifteenth District Court here.

The five suspects were picked up by members of the Washtenaw Area Narcotics Team and State Police Intelligence Unit officers after a lengthy investigation. The attempted sale was made at Murfin Avenue and Plymouth Road on the University's North Campus.

Judge Pieter G. V. Thomassen set a $250 bond on all five defendants, who are charged with conspiracy and delivery of marijuana. Court examinations in the cases was set by Judge Thomassen for Dec. 11. The suspects, all of whom posted the release bonds, include Gary Miles of 2269 Airway Ct., Daniel D. Maurer, 23, of Chelsea, Jeffery A. Pecotte, 21, of Menominee, William R. Murphy, 21, of St. Clair Shores and Thomas Flook of Ann Arbor. Officers said they had no age or street address for Flook.
