LWV fund drive at one-third of 1981 goal
League of Women Voters president Anne Sichel and finance chairman Gloria Frankena hosted a luncheon honoring the Ann Arbor Area League’s 1981 Finance Advisory Committee. Members of the 1981 committee are Lee Benz, Marjorie C. Craven, Jack Lepard, Hazel Proctor, Richard Rowland, Vivian R. Shapiro, M.S.W., and Albert Silverman, M.D.
The committee aids the League each year as it turns to the community and its members for financial support.
FRANKENA REPORTED that the League is one-third of the way toward this year’s goal of $8,000. Funds raised through the finance drive help maintain the League office at 209 S. Fourth Ave., and provide for publications such as election guides, booklets about Ann Arbor city government and schools and Your Elected Officials, all available at the League office.
Letters requesting donations were mailed to area residents in late January according to Sichel, but any member of the public who wishes to support the League’s work may send a contribution to the League office.
