Grabb, Dr. William C.

Age 53, died unexpectedly last Sunday evening at his residence near Nassau in the Bahamas. He was born July 10, 1928 in Rochester, New York, the son of Clarence and Frances Watley Grabb. Dr. Grabb was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor, where he and his wife were married. At the time of his death, Dr. Grabb was a University of Michigan professor of surgery and a national expert in the repair of cleft lip and palate. He was the head of the U-M Hospital Section of Plastic Surgery, a post he had held since 1978. He had been acting head of the section since 1975. An author and researcher, he wrote widely in his specialty, including 50 scientific articles and four medical textbooks on plastic surgery. Survivors besides his wife, Cozette, include two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Betsy) Suits and Anne Grabb; one son, David Grabb; and two grandchildren. Other survivors include three sisters, Patricia Schneider of Grosse Pointe Woods, Nancy Truedson of Norco, California and Sally Allinson of Silver Springs, Maryland. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor, Sunday, April 4, 1982 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William Hillegonds officiating. Grabb University of Michigan Plastic Surgery Research Fund, Chairman Department of Surgery, University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48109.
