Sandwich shop owner injured in ladder fall
Truman Tibbals, owner of Drake’s Sandwich Shop since 1929, is recovering from a fall he suffered Monday at his east side Ann Arbor home.
Tibbals was reported in fair condition this morning at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. He sustained a broken pelvis and an injured back when he fell from a ladder while trimming trees in his yard, said Ann Arbor Police Sgt. Jan Suomala. Drake’s is an Ann Arbor landmark that has remained virtually unchanged since it opened at 709 N. University Ave.
