Age 85, died September 27, 2000 at the Saline Evangelical Home. She was born December 8, 1914 in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada, daughter of Herbert and Phoebe Mabel Moore Burdett. On August 26, 1937 she married Thomas H. Acree in Angola, IN, he preceded her in death on December 15, 1968. Mabel was a member of West Side United Methodist Church, the Senior Citizens Guild and the Dexter Senior Center. She retired from University of Michigan Hospital in 1981 after 10 years of service. She is survived by a son, Thomas (Susan) Acree of Cairo, Egypt; a daughter, Diane Lynn (Frederick) Hatfield of Ann Arbor; two grandchildren, Scott (Lisa) Acree and Shelley (Kevin) Dean; and two great-grandchildren, Brooke Palarchio and Christopher Acree. She was preceded in death by a brother and six sisters. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2000 at West Side United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Saturday from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MUEHLIG CHAPEL. Memorials are suggested to the West Side United Methodist Church, American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
