Age 99, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2007. She was born June 10, 1908 in Superior Twp., MI, the daughter of Edwin and Emilie (Graf) Haas, and was a lifelong resident of Ann Arbor. Florence was a graduate of Ann Arbor High School in 1926, and then graduated with her teaching degree from Eastern Michigan University. She taught for 17 years in a one room school house in eastern Washtenaw County and finished teaching at Stone School and Northside Elementary schools for a total of 39 years in her career. Florence was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a member of the Women's Guild. Florence is survived by three nephews, Robert (Midge) Haas, Jerry (Linda) Haas, and Donald (Linda) Haas: several grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister-in-law, John A. and Rosemarie Haas. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 12, 2007 at Zion Lutheran Church, 1501 W. Liberty Rd., Ann Arbor, Michigan at 11: 00 am. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Florence to Zion Lutheran Church, or Glacier Hills, 1200 Earhart Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48105.
