Wlieat on the ground is looking well this spring. School commenced last Monday, with Miss Roe, of Salem, as teacher Mattie Galpin has left school at Ann Arbor on account of sickness, and will not return this term. In spite of the bad roads there was a good turn out at the sugar social, at Philo Galpin's, lajt Friday night. A large flock of wild geese have been stopping around hear for the past few weeks, but only one has been killed. The whole democratie ticket was elected in Superior last Monday, with a majority of 37. There was a small turn out on account of bad roads. It is almost impossible for the farmers to get around on account of bad roads and stormy weather. It looks as though wc would have a backward spring. Levy Quackenbush, an old resident of Superior, died on Friday, April 3d, aged about 65 years. He came to Superior in an early day. The funeral was held at Pebble's church on Sunday morning, April 5. Linus Galpin, of Superior, and Elvie McCormick, of Salem, were married last Wednesday, April ist, at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. James McCormick.
