A Large Planing Mill

Baby Ruth is the name painted on the large new engine in Luick 5ros.' enlarged planing mili. Baby luth is a 90 horse power engine which can be run up to 120 horse jower and is doing its work well. The large increase in buildings erected in Ann Arbor made the enargement of Luick Bros.' mili imerative. They were unable to turn out work fast enough. The addition to their mili is 56x60 feet in size, which makes the building now 60x120 feet in size. The new smoke stack rises ninety-one feet. A great deal of new machinery has jeen placed in the mili, among this jeing a cross-cut saw a new mouldmg machine, a fine embossing machine, etc. The mili up stairs'and down is a perfect hive of industry.' The capacity of the works has been doubled. A new dry kiln was started up Monday. The temperature when the reporter looked in was 940 and the sap was dropping out of' the lumber. Luick Bros. attend to their works in person. No man about their' establishment works harder than they do. They have built up a large and prosperous business and richly deserve their success.
