Mrs. John Blakeslee is quite UI. Mrs. R. Harris is visiting Milan friends. Mr. and Mrs. H. Sill spent Sunday in Saline. Mrs. Dr. Harper is in Detroit buying holiday goods. Mr. and Mrs. Arba Andrus visited friends at Willis, Sunday. Mr. A. E. Putman has started a branch store at Perrinton. Mr. Amos Taylor has returned from his northern sojourn. Miss Jessie Stener will commence her school, near Milan, Monday. Irwin Case, of Moorville, is the new clerk at A. E. Putman's store. Mr. C. M. Fuller, commenced lis school in the Lee district, Monday. You can teil the Democrats by their smiling countenances, in this vicinity. Mr. and Mrs. IVIains, of Detroit, spent Sunday with Dr. and Mrs. Harper. Mrs. Will Capple and daughter are visiting friends'in Vernon for a few days. Mr. E. Snell, of Port Clinton, Ohio, was the guest of G. R. Williams, Friday. Miss May Bell is teaching as supply this week, as one of the primary teachers is ill. Rev. E. F. Knickerbocker lead the Bible meetings at Editor A. B. Smith's, Friday evening. Mrs. Wilkinson, of Vernon, Mich., is the guest of her daughter; Mrs. Geo. Minto, for a few weeks. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Ford Ie ft for Mt. Clemens, where Mrs. Ford will take mineral baths for rheumatism. Miss Grace Iluntington, of Plymouth, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Rouse, of County st., for a few da ys. Mr. Linn has left for parts anknown. His wife knows nothing of his whereabouts, as he took a "French leave" a few days ago. The musicale given by the Baptist Mission band at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Whitmarsh, West Main st., Tuesday evening, was very line and well attended. Married- Mr. Wilmer Butler, of Detroit, and Miss Grace Wilson, of Milan, Thursday, at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Wilson, of River street. Rev. Jay Huntington, of Plymouth, o fifi - ciating. Married - Mr. Warren Babcock, of Milan, and Miss Gertie Hanson, of Milan, at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. Hanson, of Wabash street, day evening, Rev. Jay Huntington of Plymouth, officiating. Last Saturday Mrs. Dr. Palmer was 80 years old, and she took that occasion to invite in some of her old friends. The table was beautifully spread, and the menu very delicious, and all spent an enjoyable afternoon. They left in due season, wishing their hostess many more enjoyable birthdays.
