Leroy Noble, commercial agent of aa extensive manufacturing company in Pittsburg, has left the city for an extended trip with his family to Texas, California and the city of Mexico. The Misses Kate Noli and Carrie Heiier, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel McDonald, and Mrs. J. B. Heiier, all of Jackson, returned home Sunday evening, after spending the holiday with friends in this city. John Kirk, city clerk of Ypsilanti, was in the city Monday, on business. Silas R. Mills, of the University School of Music, was in Detroit, Monda v. Hon. Edward Duif y went to Lansing, Monday, on business connected with the Consolidated prison board. Earl Ware returned, Monday, frotn Flint, where he had been transacting sorue business. A. J. Warren, of the Saline Observer, was in the city, Monday. N. J. Kyer attended a meeting of the state millers' association at Lansing, this week. Dr. D. A. MacLachlan was called to Aylmer, Ont., this week, on professional business. John R. Miner has gone to Florida for a three weeks' sojourn, and to join Mrs. Miner, who has been there for some time. Mr. and Mrs. -Lew II. Clement returned Monday from a visit to friends in Homer. John R. Kempf, of Detroit, spent Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Kempf, of this city. Frank Mclntyre, who is a student at the college in Sandwich, Ont., spent the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Mclntyre, of Spring street. William Kearns, who has been visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Kearns, for some weeks, left for his home in Pittsburg, Pa., on MnnHa ir vxuuuay . Miss Lois Bach celebrated her seventh birthday, Monday, by getting up a sleighing party for her young friends. Mr. and Mrs. Parris Banfield gave a tea social to members of the L. O. T. M. on Tuesday evening. Rev. Eugene Zwinger, of Bridgewater, has this week been the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schmid. Fred Schmid, who is one of the trustees of the easterninsane asylum, went to Pontiac, Tuesday, to attend a meeting of the board. T. D. Kearney, prosecutingattorney, was in Ypsilanti, Wednesday, on legal business, in conjunction with W. L. Marquardt. Sedgwick Dean went to Dundee on business, Wednesday. A ninth daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. David Allmendinger this week. Samuel Schaeffer made a business trip to Jackson, Wednesday. Mrs. Hashrouch is entertaining Miss Lizzie Watson, of Marshall. Fred Carr, of Dundee, was in the city yesterday. Miss Jennie Mclntyre, of Spring street, has been entertaining her friend, Miss]Carrie Nixon, this week. Rev. A. S. Carman has been confined to the house with illness, this week. Mrs. E. J. Hyde and daughter, who have been visiting in Canada, returned this week. John Alford lias returned from a foreign shore. He has been visiting friends in Canada. Miss Mamie Bliss is recovering from the effects of a illness. Mrs. Hardy, of South State Street, with her daughier Sarah, have been visiting in Detroit, where the little giri was taken with the scarlet fever. Dr. M. C. Sheehan, of Detroit, is visiting in the city. William Shadford spent Sunday witli Ypsilanti friends. Hon. A. J. Sawyer was in Mason the iirst of the week, on business. Rev. Henry Tatlock called on friends in Detroit, Monday. Earl Ware is absent from the city, on business. ' H. M. Rose, manager of the Keeley institute in Ypsilanti, was in Ann Arbor on Wednesday. -Miss Jennie Grace, who has been visiting Detroit relatives for some time, returned home Monday. Mrs. Harry W. Hawley, of Denver, Col., left for her home, Monday, after a prolonged visit to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Christian Mack. J. D. Ryan and Robert Phillips returned, Monday, from Indiana. Eli Moore, superintendent of the Ann Arbor Agricultural Company, is in the east on business. B. F. Hall, recently one of the editors of the Inlander, has accepted a position on the Lansing Republican, and commenced his duties on that paper this week. Roy H. Marsh, of this county; ís one of the messenger boys in the state senatc. Nelson J. Keyer was in Detroit, on business, last Saturday. E. D. Eames, of Watertown, N. Y., is visiting his brother, Wilfred Eames, of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Rockwell, of Sylvan, have been visiting their son, David Rockwell. Dr. Dell and family visited relatives in Saline last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Sutherland weie in Jackson last week, visiting relatives. Mr. P. Zwergle, of Niles, is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Philip Lohr on Packard street. Charles Dietas is visiting in Detroit and Port Huron. Miss Lydia Weitbrecht, who has been visiting Detroit friends for the past two weeks, returned home yesterday. Mfs! Duncan and son, of Miller avenue, were called to Grand Haven, this week, on account of the death of her nephew, Charles Angle. Paul Snauble, superintendent of the Michigan Furniture Company, went to Detroit, Monday, on business for the company. Dr. S. M. Hartley, of East William street, is enjoying a visit from her daughter, Mrs. Killilea, of Milwaukee, Wis. Mrs. Wm. Skinner, who has been visiting her brother, Wm. Action, for the past two weeks, left this week to visit relatives at South Lyons. Prof. W. H. Butts, principal of Orchard Lake Military Academy, is visiting his fáther, Justice Butts. William Caspary, of Chelsea, was n the city this week, on business. John O'Brien of Chelsea, visited relatives in the city last week. Hon. A. J. Sawyer and family spent a few days of last week with Chelsea friends. Miss Flora Koch had a pleasant 'isit, last week, with Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Vogel, of Chelsea.
