Good sleighing at present. Chicken pox has visited the children of school district No. 3. In the death of Mr. David Wilsey, Pittsfield loses a higlïly respected citizen. The winter term of school in school district No. 3 is taught by Miss Sophia East, of this township. General Byron M. Cutcheon, of Manistee, taught school in district No. 3, Pittsfield, two winter terms, namely, the winters of 1855-6 and' 1856-7. He was 19 years of age the first term. It is somewhat frigid put in Pittsfield at present, ten degrees below zero being the lowest point yet reached by the mercury as far as I have observed. Depth of snow 9 inches on open field level. The bridge on Main street, Ypsilanti, is now closed from travel. Material is now on hand and it will be rebuilt, or rather a new bridge will take the place of the oíd one, a much needed improvement. it
