A Strange Custom

A curiousmarriage custom is recorded by Dr. Post as existing Ib southern India among some of the more primltive non-Aryan tribes. This consista ot wedding a girl to a plant, a tree, an animal, or even to an inanimate object, the notion being that any 111 luck which may follow an actual marriage may be averted by a unión of this kind.
