The thermometer has ranged f rom zero to 4:2 degrees belov, the latter poiBt being reached at Ewen, Mich. , on Thursday morning-. It has been more than a quarter of a century since there were so many continuous blizzards and snch low temperature. From Houghton, Mich., comes a report that the mines and stamp milis were compelled to shut down owing to a lack of fueL Henry Grostick, a farm hand, frze to death near Charlevoix on Wednesday niglit.
