The legislature of the state will be here on the cth and ioth to visit the University. They come on invitation of Mayor Doty and the common council of Ann Arbor and preparations are already being made to give the visitors a pleasant reception, and the following committees have been appointed: Reception - The Mayor and Common Council. , Finance - Col. H. S. Dean, Thos. J. Keech, Fred Schmid, J. E. Beal, J. V. Sheehan, Dr. W. J. Herdman, H. J. Brown, Prof. A. C. McLaughlin. Entertainment - Aid. D. F. Schairer, Miss Emma Bower, C. W. Wagner, Dr. N. S. Hoff, Prof. J. C. Knowlton, A. W. Hamilton, Edward Duffy. Transportation - E. H. Scott, J. E. Sumner, Aid, P, Ferguson. The faculty is also preparing to entertain the legislature. It is also the intention of Secretary Wade to let the legislature see the students all together, and for that purpose there willbea meeting in University hall on the evening of the 9th. A musical program will be given if the 'Varsity Glee and Banjo club is in the city, and other attractions will be on the program.
