The legislature which has just adjourned has been one of the most reckless, which ever drew pay from the Michigan treasury. Much illadvisedlegislation wasaccomplished. Many laws were placed upon the statute book contrary tp the constition of the state and the supreme court will have its hands full selecting out the valid laws from the multitude of invalid statutes. Hon. Lester H. Salsbury, of Adrián, will undoubtedly receive the appointment on the fortifications board, to succeed Gen. Cutcheon; an important and remunerative appointment. His friends throughout this congressional district will be pleased with such an appointment. He is a fine man, a good democrat, a soldier, and a gentleman. That is the stamp of a man to fill the offices.
