Chicago, 111., June 3.- Col. J. Surnner Rogers led 140 soldiers into Midway Plaisance Frida}', and before night his men liad pitched 100 tents and taken possession of the outermost post of the street. lie is the head of the Orehard Lake (Mich. ) military academy, and his comraand is made up of cadets from that academy, with tfaeir professors, tutors and field officers. There will be dress parades each day at ! o'elock, sometimes in front of the Government building-, at others on the grand plaza and frequently in front of their camp. The coinmeneement exercises will conclude the visit, and then the boys will scatter to their homes in all the States. President Palmer, of the national commission, delivers the address and Gen. Miles presents the diplomas. A splendid band aceompanies the cadets. The camp is called "Camp Davis," in honor of the director general of the exposition. Chicago, June 5. - On Sunday Rev. Dr. Henderson, of the department of social science, University of Chicago, preached a sermón to the Orehard Lake cadets, encamped at the east entrance to Midway Plaisance. The cadets will give an exhibition drill in the presence of the Spanish infanta. Princess Eulalie, some time during the week.
