JaCkson, June 26.- Charles Foster, a Michigan Central freight conductor, at 205 Deyo street, this city, was fatally shot by a tramp at Dowagiac Sunday morning. The tramp, who escaped, was attempting to board the train and Foster warned him away. As the conductor turned to get on his car the tramp shot him in the back, the ball entering close to the spinal chord. Foster's relatives have gone to Dowagiac, as it is said he cannot recover. The tramp had not been captured at last accounts.
