Michigan State Lands

Lansing, July 81. - The report of the commissioner of the state land office for the year ending June 30, which is now prepared, will show a largely increased business over the two preceding- years. The number of acres of land sold in 1891 was 19,676.84, and the sum received therefor, $69,198.69; in 189a, 20,169.69 acres were sold for $42,251.05. For 1893 the report will show sales of 33,320.89 acres and receipts of $166,718.40. Licenses were issued the year for 1,551.35 acres of swamp lands, making- a total of 21,753.54 acres now standing- licsnsed to settlers. Nearly 1,200 reverted to the state by f orfeiture for non-compliance with the terms of sale.
