Detroit, Aug. 31.- The Lady Maceabees of the city, together with friends f rom Bay City, Kaginaw, örand Rápida and Port Huran, asseinbled at the skating pavilion at Belle Isle Wednesnay to the number of 300 and had an enjoyable time listening to speeches from Mrs. Lillian Hollister. candidato for the position of great lady coniinander; Mrs. Mary Davis of Port Hurón, candidate for lady lieutenant commander; Dr. M. M. Danforth of Port Hurón, and Dr. Emtna Cook, candidates for great lady physician; Mrs. Carrie Gilbert of Grand Rápida and Mrs. Carrie Torrey of Rochester, candidates for great lady recordkeeper. A substantial supper was served after the speechmaking. Mrs. Sarah La Tour presided. Representatives from all the hives in the city were present.
