Phelps has been at the World's Fair. Miss Lulu Snay entertained cousins last week. Miss Aggie Pratt owns a new Safety bicycle. William Judson, of Chelsea, was here, Thursday James Gallagher visited his brother, Wednesday. Henry Warren, of Grand Rapids, is at his mother's. Wm. Gregory and faraily spent Sunday in Webster. Mrs. Carr and famiiy entertained friends over Sunday. Miss Kate McCabe is entertaining relatives from abroad. E. Campbell was a Pinckney visitor one day last week. Mrs. F. Hall has returned from her visit at Greenville. Frank Carpenter and famiiy spent Thursday in Ann Arbor. P. Fleming and famiiy entertained relatives last Wednesday. John Schieferstein, jr. , was in Chelsea one day recently. George Boyden made a flying trip to Pinckney recently. John Hall intends visiting the World's Fair in a few days. Mr. Rofoot is making extensive improvements on his farm. Mr. McGuinness, of Pinckney, visited his cousins, Sunday. John L. Smith was an Ann Arbor visitor the last of the week. Frank Spooner has opened undertaking rooms in our village. Frank Sharpey has gone to Indiana to spend a few months. The Misses Haab spent Wednesday with their sister in Scio. John Croarkin has opened a fine clothing stock in the village. Cliff Green and Tom James have been doing the World's Fair. William Van Fleet was in Ann Arbor on business, Saturday. A series of lectures was given this week at St. Joseph's church. Mr. and Mrs. A. Taylor and son visited Ann Arbor, Saturday. Mrs. C. Erogan, of Marión, was a Sun-day visitor of her mother. Mrs. Stockford has been entertaining her sister from Jackson. Wesley Canfield, of Sylvan, made us a pleasant cali last Saturday. Mrs. Omar Nordman entertained relatives from abroad last week. Miss Eva Hill has gone abroad for a few weeks, to visit friends. Mrs. Monks, of Pinckney, called on friends here last Wednesday. Webb Pearce has opened the winter term of school at North Lake. Jesse Parsons made a short cali on Pinckney friends, Wednesday. Frank Wheeler and soa spent Saturday with Ann Arbor friends. Miss Sarah Taylor is attending the School of Music at Ann Arbor. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Peasley, of Ohio, have been visiting her father. Will Taylor, with two of his chums, spent Sunday at Pettysville. Geo. Stanton, of Webster, spent Saturday and Sunday with his sister. E. Croarkin is home, after several weeks' stay at Chicago with friends. Miss Rosa Cope, of Ypsilanti, has opened school in the Smith district. Mrs. S. Thurston and family, of Silver Lake, spent Sunday with her son. Jay Stanton had the misfortune to fall and break his arm last Friday. William Curlett and wife enjoyed a visit from Pinckney friends, Monday. Miss Tessie Sweetman is spending a few days with friends in Marion. John Lee, jr., has resumed his studies in the Detroit medical college. Mrs. Clarence Carpenter has been entertaining friends from Pettysville. Mrs. M. Hudson, of Jackson, is spending a few days with her parents. P. Reider and friend made a flying trip to Putnam one day last week. Mr. McDonald, of East Putnam, made us a short cali the fust of the week. Wm. Kilt., of Ann Arbor, was among old friends the last of the week. Messrs. Schultz and Brenner were among friends in Pinckney, Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. I. Savery, of this place, accompanied by his brother and wife, of Salem, have been at the White City. 1 Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Fohey, of Pinckney, spent Sunday with their mother. Mrs. James Lyman and lady friend visited in Pinckney one day last week. N. Van Riper and friend, of Webster, made us a pleasant cali last Thursday. Mr. E. Serviss and daughter, of Ann Arbor, spent the last of the week here. Mr. and Mrs. William Clark and daughter spent Sunday with friends in Putnam. Mrs. William Sweetman and family entertained relatives from abroad on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. Cadwell and baby, of Pinckney, called on friends last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Z. Burr and daughter spent the last of the week in Ann Arbor. Frank Buchanan spent the past few days viewing the sights at the White City. The young people of this place will give a dance at the opera house this evening. Mr. Palmer was entertained by some of his country friends one day the past week. The ladies' society of the M. E. church met with Mrs. Ellen Alley last Wednesday. Miss Clara Schmitt has returned t Saline, after a few days' stay with her parents. Dennis Warner, with some friends, enjoyed a drive in the country the first of the week. George Spiegelberg and family visited his brother at Whitmore Lake on Sunday. B. Williams and wife are entertaining their daughter and family 'rom East Tawas. George Bell and wife, of Howell, spent several days of the past week with friends here. Joe Ball, of Ann Arbor, shook ïands with his many Dexter friends he first of the week. James Henry and daughter, Miss Iyrtle, of Hamburg, visited friends he first of the week. Burt Webb and chum, of Ann Arbor, were the guests of friends in his vicinity, Sunday. James Armstrong and Will Devine, of Podunk, called on friends one day the past week. Miss Gertie Carpenter is home rom Ann Arbor, after spending the summer with her cousins. Misses Cynthia Carpenter and Vlaude Hooker were the guests of Ann Arbor friends, Thursday. Mrs. C. James and Mrs. L. Alley spent Thursday and Friday with Mrs. Alley's mother in Pinckney. Mrs. Clarence McComb and son, of Ohio, are visiting her parents and other friends for a short time. The Willing Workers of the Congregational church spent last Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. T. Stanton. George Bell is no longer connected with the livery firm of Sloan & Bell, having sold his interest to Mr. Sloan. Miss Libbie O'Neill closes her :all term of school in Webster on Friday, and will teach in Lima durng the winter. John Gregory and wife had the jleasure of entertaining their daugh:er and family from Jackson several days of the past week. The Whitney family gave a very interesting entertainment to a large crowd of people in this village last Friday afternoon and evening. Mrs. A. Reason and son Verne and daughter Le Myrtelle, of Pinckney, passed through here, Thursday, on their way to Ann Arbor.
