In South America there is a small fish that not only attacks its fellows of the sea and ziver, but is greatly dreaded by the natives, who during certain seasons have to ford the streams in which tho carbitos are f ound. Bathers are of ten attacked by them, the shai-p, chisel shaped teeth taking a bit from the flesh wherever they attaok. They are perfect scavengers, eating the animáis that float down the river- clead or alive.
