Three petitions for a divorce have been filed in the circuit court this week, one woman and two men desiring to be released from their matrimonial bond.s Elizabeth Webber, of this city, asks for a divorce from George Frederick Webber, whom she married October ir, 1881 and to whom she bore seven children, six of whom are now living, ranging in age from five to thirteen years. She charges her husband with extreme cruelty consisting in beating her in the presence of her children. She instances two cases of assault, on December 1 and 13, on the latter of which days she charges that the assault was made with a hammer and chisel. Jacob Slimmer was married in Chelsea Dec. 21, 1892 to Sarah Brennan by the Rev. Dr. Holmes. Now he wants a divorce, charging that about two months after marriage his wife became intoxicated, that she has been intoxicated several times since and goes out with other men. Another one of Rev. Dr. Holmes' marriages is sought to be dissolved. On October 8, 1879, Allen Slephens was married to Lucy Smith. They ha%e no children. Now Allen wants a divorce on the ground that against hjs earnest protests his wife neglects her household duties and devotes most of her time to teaching country schools. He also States that she has several times left home for a long time.
