Mr. Brenner was appointed for uree days; by rnistake he served nine ays under tlie impression that he i tould be notified that bis time had I xpired. To the Comrnon Covnvil: Your Committee on Finance. to whom was referred the petition of Mrs. Kenny. asking for $1,000 dainages for injuries sustained to her right Hmb on June 10, 1892, by reason of a defectïve grate in front of So 7 Ann street, wouíd respectfully report that they liave had the matter uuder consideraron, and would recomniend that said petition be denied. To the Common Council: Your Cotnmiitee on Finance, to whom was referred the communication from the City Treasurer regardirig the sale of sewer bonds to Spitzer & Co., banliers, of Toledo, Ohio, and memorandum of said agreement and sale, would respectfully report that they have had the matter under consideration, and would reeomrnend that said sale be hereby conörmed by this Council. Wood, chainnan of the special 3ommittee on procuring a janitor for tlie City Building, asked for furtber time, which was granted. Pres. Watts, chairman of Furniture Committee, stated that the committee had about coinpleted its labors and would make a final report to this Conncil at its next regular session. KEl'OltTS OF CITY OFFICERS. Clerk Miller reported that President j Watts had appointed the folloWing Belief Committee: Messrs. A. L. Noble, II J.Brown, James O. St. Cl air, J. V. Sheehan, and Foor Superintendent Sipley, to carry out the recommendations of Hi8 Honor the Mayor, as adopted by the Council at the last meeting. MOTIONS AND BESOLUTIONS. By Aid. Wood: Eesolved, That the Mayor and City Clerk be and are directed to sign and issue the $30.000 Main Sewer Bonds, and depoait thein with the City Treasurer, taking his receipt therefor; said bonds to be of the denomination of $500 f.ach, and payable $2,000 annually, and to draw interest at the rate of flve per cent per anniun. Principal and accrued interest payable on December lst of each year, at the office of the City Treasurer in the City of Aon Arbor. Adopted as follows: Yeas- Aid. Schaker, Wagner, Martin, Snow, Wood, ïaylor, Manly, Pres. Watts- 8. Nays- None. By Aid. Manly: Eesolved, That the Mayor be and is ! liereby authorized and empowered to appoint. for the term of one year, three competent persons to act as special policemen for the purpose of guarding the propeftj and conserving the peace at the Grand Opera House in tliiscity, such policemen, however, to perfqrm sucli service without costs to the city, and also the city to be without liability for any neglect of duty on their part. Adopted. By Aid. Wagner: Resolved, Thát the Board of Public Works are hereby empowered to purchase from S. Wood & 2'000 feet of six-inch drain pipe at 85 per cent off from price list. Adopted as follows: Yeas- Aid. Schairer, Wagner, Snow, Wood, Taylor, Manly, Pres. AVatts- 7. Nays- None. By Aid. Manly: Piesolved, ïhat Kule No. 21 be susnended , that the Street Comtnissioner be and is hereby instructed to make out all bilis fot labor on Sewer twiee a month. and ccrtify the same to this Council for iis consideration at any regular meeting thereof. Adopted U8 tollows: Yeas- Aid. Schairer, Wagner, Snow. Wood, Taylor, Manly, Pres. Watts- 7. Nays- Noue. By Aid. Schairer: Resolved, That the Finance Copamittee be directed in the case of Mrs. Kenny vs. The City, tp see what would be the least sum of money to compromise said case, and report to this Council. Adopted as follows: Yeas- Aid. Schairer, WagDer, Wood, Taylor, Manly, Pres. Watts- 6 Nays- None. Aid. Snow refused to vote. On motion the Council adjourned. City
