Saginaw. Jan. 3. - Judge McKniglit eentenced William Palmer Tuesday to 25 years in tlie state prison at Jackson for the murder of his brother Albert. The prisoner exhibited no euiotion as the harsh, but just, sentence was pronounced, but npon being taken to the eherifï's office he broke down and cried like a ehild. His attorneys, Messrs. Nolan and Weadock, iiumediately made a motion for the court to instruct the stenographer to make a transcript of the testimony taken in order that the case inay go to the supreme court. Palmer was placed on the stand and said that he had exhausted all his nieana, and that his ruother had mortgaged her home and spent nearly every cent she possessed in his defense. Judge McKnight took the matter under advisement.
