Pudding bags should be made of heavy jean. Wash white marble porches, bath, etc., with a mop dipped in boiling hot water and soda. A good deal oí soda should be dissolved n the water. Mix fine sawdust with glue to a stift" paste for filliiig nuil holes or cracks, and the patch will hardly be discernible, I cially if tlie sawdust is of the same wood that is niended. A saucepau in wliich rice, oatmeal or i anything sticky has been cooked inay be very easily cleaned by putting in a cupful of ashes when you take it otï the fire and then fill with water. The custom of brushing a tablecloth instead of .shaking it as formerly has two good points. It does not scalter the crumbs abroad, but collects theiu tidily. And it does not crumple ihe cloth, which was sadly mussed at the longtime method of clearing the table.
